Senior Hydrologic Modeler

A Florida environmental consulting services firm is seeking a senior hydrologic modeler. This is a full time position to provide general technical support for the Florida Bay EFDC hydrodynamic and water quality model development and application and provide modeling support to complete the calibration and verification of the Florida Bay EFDC water quality model and analysis of base case model simulations.

The candidate Must have a Master’s Degree in Marine Science or Environmental Engineering. The candidate should also have a good understanding of the basic principles of hydrodynamics, water resources, and water quality modeling; and have experience in applying hydrodynamic and water quality models, and analyzing their input and output. The position requires a person who will work efficiently as a team-member, work independently and productively with minimal supervision and demonstrate good written and oral communication skills. Computer skills should include proficiency in working in Unix with knowledge of shell scripting, proficiency in working in Windows environments (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, ArcGIS, etc.) and proficiency in FORTRAN, Matlab, BASINS and GIS.
